Workman and Ganesha are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Lobos will head out to square off against the Giants at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
On Thursday, Workman got the win against Edgewood by a conclusive 12-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lobos.
McKenna Weller made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up five earned runs off eight hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kimberly Cruz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Rozlynn Ramos also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Ganesha's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand La Puente a 16-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Giants in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won eight in a row.
Sophia McCoy was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of MartiAnn Leach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Ganesha pushed their record up to 21-4-1 with the win, which was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Workman, their record is now 8-6.
Workman suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Ganesha when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Lobos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
