Basketball Recap: Florida Prep Falcons vs. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Florida Prep Falcons can now relate to. They were beaten by the Patriots 44-8 on Monday. The defeat means Florida Prep is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine Siao, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Siao continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rachel Waine, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Florida Prep dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-17.
Florida Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will square off against the Cougars at TBD on Wednesday. Merritt Island Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Patriots in Florida (the Cougars are ranked 211th, while the Patriots are ranked 631st).
