Baseball Recap: Lathrop Malemutes vs. West Valley Wolf Pack

Lathrop extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Valley Wolf Pack. The Malemutes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolf Pack from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Hunter Clements made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trevor Sabey, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

As for West Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On West Valley's side, Mason Poulson was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. Those hits marked the first that Poulson has got this season.

Looking ahead, Lathrop will face off against Monroe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Valley, they will square off against North Pole on Wednesday.
