Basketball Game Preview: Escalon Cougars vs. Ripon Indians

Escalon hasn't had much luck against Ripon recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Escalon Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Ripon Indians at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Escalon came up short against Ripon Christian and fell 57-44.

Meanwhile, Ripon unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Sonora. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Escalon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Ripon, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 11-9.

Escalon came up short against Ripon in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 78-65. Can Escalon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
