After low-scoring totals in their previous three matchup, Northwestern Regional brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Everything went their way against the Gilbert-Northwestern Regional Yellowjackets on Monday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.
Northwestern Regional got a great performance from Carter Nadeau as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Nadeau has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Jake Ouellette was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Machia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
