Baseball Recap: Dobie Has No Trouble Against South Houston

After only one run in their last match, Dobie made sure to put some runs up on the board against South Houston on Tuesday. The Longhorns put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Tristan McKissick looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Austin Silva, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jaylon Aguilar, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Dobie was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Houston only posted a batting average of .133.

Dobie's record now sits at 10-11. As for South Houston, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Dobie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
