Basketball Recap: Greensburg Salem Comes Up Short

Greensburg Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 63-38 to the Hempfield Area Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Golden Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 596th, while the Spartans are ranked 209th).

Greensburg Salem's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Hempfield Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Greensburg Salem will challenge East Allegheny at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hempfield Area, they will square off against Imani Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Imani Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
