Softball Game Preview: Franklin Academy Patriots vs. Vance Charter Knights

Franklin Academy hasn't had much luck against Vance Charter recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Knights at 5:00 p.m. Franklin Academy has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Franklin Academy is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 15-11 to Wake Christian Academy.

Franklin Academy got a massive performance out of Paige Shriver, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Addison Justham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Vance Charter came up short against Roxboro Community on Tuesday, falling 8-1. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Vance Charter saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Rice, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Vance Charter's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Franklin Academy couldn't quite get it done against Vance Charter when the teams last played on Wednesday as they fell 8-3. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
