Volleyball Recap: Rivera Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Rivera waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Porter Cowboys. The Raiders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cowboys, too.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Rivera was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-9.

Xandria Johnson paced Rivera's offense, picking up 15 kills. Johnson got some help from Gianna Cantu and her 27 assists. Cassandra Pardo and Tiffany Garza kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Rivera's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Porter, they dropped their record down to 9-13 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rivera is set to challenge their familiar foe Donna North at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Porter will square off against rival Pace at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
