Basketball Recap: Jayden Bone's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eagle's Landing Christian Academy over Berkeley

After flying high against Tournament Opponent last Saturday, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Berkeley Stags on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 227th in Georgia, while the Stags are ranked 23rd in South Carolina).

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Bone, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The match was Bone's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Sanders, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 14 points and three blocks.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Berkeley, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-46 loss against Jones County on the 7th. As for Berkeley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-44 defeat against Summerville on the 3rd.
