Baseball Game Preview: East Juniata Tigers vs. Line Mountain Eagles

The East Juniata Tigers will take on the Line Mountain Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece.

Juniata hit East Juniata with a eight-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 14-13.

Wyatt Weges put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Nathan Carolus was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Austin Shearer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Line Mountain couldn't beat Halifax on Monday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Eagles took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Line Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for East Juniata, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
