Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jaelyn Dye and Kinsley Molden Lead Southwestern to Victory

Southwestern won the last time they faced Pulaski County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Southwestern Warriors managed a 45-40 victory over the Pulaski County Maroons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Southwestern was led to victory by Kinsley Molden and Jaelyn Dye. Molden posted 16 points and five assists, while Dye went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points and seven boards. That's the most points Dye has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckaila Monroe, who earned three points in addition to eight rebounds and six blocks.

Southwestern is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Pulaski County, with the loss, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern has already played their next contest (against McCreary Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pulaski County will square off against Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockcastle County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Pulaski County likes a good challenge.
