Basketball Game Preview: Kingsley Stags vs. Elk Rapids Elks

Kingsley hasn't had much luck against Elk Rapids recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Kingsley Stags will head out to take on the Elk Rapids Elks at 7:00 p.m.

Kingsley is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They fell 62-53 to Cheboygan. One positive for the Stags, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Elk Rapids had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Huskies as they made off with a 74-50 win. Given the Elks' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Huskies are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kingsley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Elk Rapids, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Kingsley took a serious blow against Elk Rapids in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 63-18. Can Kingsley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
