Baseball Recap: Jennings Comes Up Short

Jennings suffered their closest defeat since April 19, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Welsh Greyhounds by a score of 10-8. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Grayson Whitehead stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Maddox Hebert, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Jennings kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Welsh only managed eight hits.

Jennings' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Welsh, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.

While Jennings had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
