Basketball Recap: Winnebago Takes a Loss

Winnebago was the 56-52 winner over Oakland-Craig when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Winnebago Indians fell 57-47 to the Oakland-Craig Knights on Tuesday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oakland-Craig had a senior duo take command as Braylon Anderson went 9 for 13 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and five assists and Corbin Guill almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Anderson is now averaging an impressive 16.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Druckenmiller, who posted seven points.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Oakland-Craig, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Winnebago will take on Kuemper in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Kuemper's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Oakland-Craig, they will host Wisner-Pilger at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakland-Craig is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58 points per game this season.
