Basketball Recap: Thorp Comes Up Short

Thorp was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 63-13 loss at the hands of the Stanley-Boyd Orioles. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Mohr, who posted four points along with 14 boards and three blocks.

Thorp's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Stanley-Boyd, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Thorp won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Beavers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 58.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Stanley-Boyd, they will venture away from home to challenge Cadott at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
