Baseball Recap: Rolesville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Voyager Academy, Rolesville was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Southern Lee Cavaliers by a score of 4-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cooper Redfern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Rolesville's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Rolesville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marvin Quintero, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Rolesville's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Southern Lee, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rolesville will take on Knightdale at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southern Lee, they will challenge Apex at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
