Basketball Game Preview: Downey Knights vs. Enochs Eagles

The Downey Knights will face off against the Enochs Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Downey: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Enochs has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.

Last Friday, Downey lost to Turlock at home by a 61-42 margin. The Knights were down 45-18 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Trey Richards, who posted 14 points. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Solomon Paris, who had 11 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Enochs ended up a good deal behind Edison on Saturday and lost 53-35. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Enochs has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Downey, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.

Downey beat Enochs 60-53 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Will Downey repeat their success, or does Enochs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
