Preview: Seton Catholic Central Knights vs. Plattsburgh Hornets
Seton Catholic Central has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Plattsburgh Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Seton Catholic Central's defense has only allowed 29.8 points per game this season, so Plattsburgh's offense will have their work cut out for Plattsburgh.
Last Wednesday, Seton Catholic Central came up short against Chazy and fell 40-31.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Grace Trombley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. She scored a full 35.5% of Seton Catholic Central's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Emma Langlois was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-29, which was the final score in Plattsburgh's tilt against Saranac last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Plattsburgh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Saranac is ranked 39th).
Seton Catholic Central's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3. As for Plattsburgh, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Seton Catholic Central ended up a good deal behind Plattsburgh when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 41-27. Can Seton Catholic Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
