Basketball Recap: Phillipsburg Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

Phillipsburg had won seven straight road games and Matthew Scerbo Jr. did his part to make it eight on Thursday. The Phillipsburg Stateliners walked away with an 80-67 victory over the North Hunterdon Lions thanks in part to Scerbo Jr., who almost dropped a triple-double on 25 points, nine boards, and 11 assists. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points.

Ethan White-Philpot was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in boards.

Phillipsburg's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for North Hunterdon, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Phillipsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 64-58 victory against Colonia on the 1st. North Hunterdon has also already played their next contest (against Governor Livingston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
