Baseball Game Preview: Easley Green Wave vs. Greer Yellow Jackets

The Easley Green Wave will challenge the Greer Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Easley nor Greer posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Easley is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 12th on Tuesday. They came up short against Hillcrest, falling 15-2. The Green Wave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Easley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Tolbert, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Greer hadn't done well against Blue Ridge recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fighting Tigers, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Yellow Jackets have posted since April 19, 2024.

Greer is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Easley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
