Soccer Game Preview: Yuma Catholic vs. Central

The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks will head out on the road to square off against the Central Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Yuma Catholic, who comes in off a win.

Central better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Yuma Catholic really get things going. Yuma Catholic was the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Benjamin Franklin last Friday. The Shamrocks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by three goals or more this season.

Hector Soto and Diego Pompa scored all four of Yuma Catholic's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Castle Park by a score of 3-2. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Central fell to 12-1-2. As for Yuma Catholic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
