Baseball Game Preview: Minisink Valley Warriors vs. Kingston Tigers

The Minisink Valley Warriors will head out to square off against the Kingston Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Friday, Minisink Valley came up short against Warwick and fell 6-3.

Will Burretto was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Minisink Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Sommella, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Sommella also put up a double, which was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Kingston also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Arlington by a score of 8-4.

Minisink Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Kingston, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.

Minisink Valley couldn't quite get it done against Kingston in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
