It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Saugatuck ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 victory over the Fennville Blackhawks. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trailblazers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Holden Burd and Nolan LaLonde did most of the damage at the plate: Burd got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double, while LaLonde went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Burd has posted since back in May of 2025. Morgan Davis was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Saugatuck kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Saugatuck's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Fennville, they dropped their record down to 1-19 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road.

Saugatuck will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blackhawks: the pair will be back at it again later today.
