Softball Game Preview: Wahluke Warriors vs. Royal Knights

Wahluke is 0-10 against Royal since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wahluke Warriors will be playing at home against the Royal Knights at 3:00 p.m. Wahluke has given up an average of 26.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Wahluke is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 31-2 to College Place.

Meanwhile, Royal came tearing into Saturday's contest with eight straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Bulldogs 20-13.

Jill Allred made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and 12 unearned) runs off ten hits. Allred was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emerson Eilers, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bergeson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.

Royal pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.7 runs. As for Wahluke, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
