Basketball Recap: Gatesville Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Chaparral

While Gatesville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down the Chaparral Bobcats 46-32 on Thursday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Hornets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Bobcats are ranked 117th).

Gatesville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Chaparral, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Gatesville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 56-17 win against Valley Mills on the 6th. As for Chaparral, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-35 loss against Cedar Park on the 5th.
