Basketball Recap: Ben Kerlegan Key Part of Team Effort in Lions Win

Acadiana Christian's game back in November was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Faith Training Christian Academy by a score of 54-44. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 53-37 win Faith Training Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Acadiana Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Kerlegan out in front who went 8-for-17 en route to 21 points. Those 21 points gave Kerlegan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Layne Hebert, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 16 points.

Acadiana Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Faith Training Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Acadiana Christian will head out to challenge Freedom Life Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Faith Training Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Midstate Homeschool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
