Volleyball Recap: Lawrence-Nelson Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brynn Harrison and Victoria Koehler

Lawrence-Nelson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Fillmore Central Panthers, falling 3-0. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Lawrence-Nelson ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-17, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Lawrence-Nelson had strong showings from Victoria Koehler, who had 11 digs and one assist, and Brynn Harrison, who had seven digs and six kills. Maddy Laughlin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lawrence-Nelson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Fillmore Central, they moved to 5-9 with that victory, which also ended their four-match losing streak.

Lawrence-Nelson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Silver Lake on the 25th. As for Fillmore Central, they will challenge Sutton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
