Veterans Memorial put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Pioneer Diamondbacks as they made off with a 46-21 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Chargers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Calvin Trevillion continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 217 yards and three scores on only ten carries. Manny Escobedo helped out on the ground, rushing for 86 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Veterans Memorial was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 436 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pioneer only rushed for 160.

Despite the loss, Pioneer still got an impressive performance from William Goodloe, who threw for 119 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 81 yards.

Veterans Memorial's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Pioneer, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Veterans Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 40-39 defeat against Harlingen on the 9th. As for Pioneer, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 31-14 victory against Alice on the 9th.
