Baseball Recap: Lake Central Wins High-Profile Contest Against Crown Point

Lake Central faced Crown Point in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Indians walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Bulldogs. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lake Central got a great performance from Josh Flores as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Flores has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drew Kosteba, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Hein, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Lake Central is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Crown Point, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 19-4.
