Milan dropped their record down to 23-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Westview Chargers, falling 8-1. For Westview's part, McCall Sims made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Sims has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sarah Byars was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoey Matte, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
