Baseball Recap: Notre Dame's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Notre Dame put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Hamilton Hornets by a score of 8-3. The Irish have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Agastya Kapoor looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame let James Duffy and Tommy Swietek run wild. Duffy scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Swietek scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Connor Dunn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Notre Dame pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average this season. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Notre Dame and Hamilton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Notre Dame is set to square off against their familiar foe Princeton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hamilton will take on rival Nottingham at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
