Basketball Recap: McDonald County Comes Up Short

McDonald County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Carthage Tigers, falling 72-38. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 332nd, while the Tigers are ranked 33rd).

McDonald County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Carthage, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

McDonald County will face off against Bolivar at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carthage has already played their next game (against Nixa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
