Basketball Recap: Henderson County Falls Short Against Ranked Franklin County

On Monday, Henderson County faced Franklin County in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Henderson County Colonels fell just short of the Franklin County Flyers by a score of 57-54. The Colonels' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Henderson County lost, don't look at Brooklyn Gibson. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 11 on her way to 19 points. The match was Gibson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of A'Tylia Green, who posted 13 points.

Henderson County's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Franklin County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Henderson County will take on Clarksville Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Clarksville Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season. As for Franklin County, they will head out to square off against Great Crossing at 7:30 p.m. on January 7th.
