Soccer Recap: Apple Valley Comes Up Short

The matchup between Apple Valley and Sultana on Tuesday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Apple Valley Sun Devils came up short against the Sultana Sultans, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, the Sun Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 742nd, while the Sultans are ranked 103rd).

This is the second loss in a row for Apple Valley and nudges their season record down to 2-7-4. As for Sultana, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Apple Valley will face off against Oak Hills at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hills will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Apple Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sultana, they will square off against Burroughs at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Sultana is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.
