Softball Recap: Countryside Christian Comes Up Short

Countryside Christian was the 9-4 winner over Peniel Baptist Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Countryside Christian Minutemen came up short against the Peniel Baptist Academy Warriors on Monday, falling 17-4. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joy Sullivan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lillie Colon, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Countryside Christian now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Countryside Christian will host Eastside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastside has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.4 runs per game on average), something Countryside Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Peniel Baptist Academy, they will challenge Trinity Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.3 runs per game this season.
