Basketball Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 72-37 loss at the hands of the Del Valle Conquistadores. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Scorpions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-50 back in December of 2024.

Jayden Nunez was nothing short of spectacular for Del Valle: he went 8 for 10 on his way to 16 points and five boards. Byan Mei was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Del Valle, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.

Horizon has already played their next match (against El Dorado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Del Valle will face off against Parkland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Valle is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.6 points per game this season.
