Baseball Recap: Madras Comes Up Short

Madras was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Gladstone Gladiators, falling 11-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-1 defeat back in April.

Madras saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nakomis Rivera, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Madras' loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Gladstone, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madras will host The Dalles at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gladstone, they will challenge Estacada at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gladiators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rangers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
