Baseball Recap: Finneytown's Luck Changes for the Better on Saturday

Finneytown can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against the Withrow Tigers by a score of 8-5.

Daniel Mefford was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Frost, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Finneytown's win bumped their record up to 3-11. As for Withrow, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Finneytown will head out to square off against Reading at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Withrow, they will take on Western Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
