Volleyball Recap: Palo Verde Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Arbor View

Palo Verde faced Arbor View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aggies. The Panthers have struggled against the Aggies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Jovani Corniel paced Palo Verde's offense, picking up 13 kills. Corniel got some help from Mia Calvillo Zurita and her 18 assists. Izzy Steiner controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Palo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Arbor View, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-6.

Coincidentally, Palo Verde and Arbor View will both be playing Shadow Ridge the next time they take the court. The Aggies will head out to face the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Panthers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
