It was fun while it lasted, but Patton's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Thursday. They came up short against the Polk County Wolverines, falling 4-0. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Panthers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Having lost for the first time this season, Patton fell to 7-1. As for Polk County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Patton will square off against Brevard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brevard will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Patton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Polk County, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against North Henderson on the 14th.
