Recap: East Dragons vs. East Tech Scarabs
The East Dragons had to endure a 22-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against East Tech by a score of 39-26 on Saturday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win East has managed all season.
Brooklynn Diener was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten steals. The matchup was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aanijah Springfield, who scored 11 points along with six blocks.
East's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-8. As for East Tech, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Manchester at 2:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024. After both having extra time off, East Tech and Lincoln West will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 16, 2024.
