Soccer Game Preview: Capistrano Valley vs. Mission Viejo

The Capistrano Valley Cougars will head out to take on the Mission Viejo Diablos at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Capistrano Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Capistrano Valley's offense. They fell just short of Aliso Niguel by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while the Wolverines are ranked 201st).

Meanwhile, Mission Viejo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of San Clemente.

Mission Viejo's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Capistrano Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8-3.
