Softball Recap: ALA - West Foothills Extends Winning Streak to Three

ALA - West Foothills got themselves on the board against Estrella Foothills on Friday, but Estrella Foothills never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Wolves. The Guardians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by 11 runs or more this season.

Savanna Urias made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Urias was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Sammy Kirby was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Madelyn Caines, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.

ALA - West Foothills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win (which was ALA - West Foothills' third in a row) raised their record to 6-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Estrella Foothills, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
