Baseball Game Preview: Doss Dragons vs. Shawnee Golden Eagles

The Doss Dragons will head out to take on the Shawnee Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses apiece.

Doss is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 20-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brown on Wednesday. Even if the Dragons couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Francis Parker hit Shawnee with a eight-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Eagles lost 16-4 to the Wyverns.

Trevor Pence made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one stolen base. Brandon Williams also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Doss' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Shawnee, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Doss' way against Shawnee in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Doss made off with an 18-2 win. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
