Basketball Recap: Elk Point-Jefferson Falls Short Against Ranked Crofton

Elk Point-Jefferson is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Crofton. The Elk Point-Jefferson Huskies fell to the Crofton Warriors 52-47.

Crofton had a senior duo take command as Sammie Allen on her way to 18 points and three steals and Cassie Allen posted nine points in addition to five assists and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sammie has scored at least a third of Crofton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Seanna Pinkelman, who earned six points and five boards.

Elk Point-Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Crofton, their victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3.

Elk Point-Jefferson has already played their next contest, a 70-47 win against Beresford on the 14th. As for Crofton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-38 victory against Norfolk Catholic on the 13th.
