Volleyball Recap: Pike Central Takes a Loss

Pike Central extended their losing streak to eight on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-18. They lost 3-0 to the South Spencer Rebels. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Chargers have suffered against the Rebels since September 26, 2019.

Jovie Mills paced Pike Central's offense, picking up five kills. Mills got some help from Braelyn Barnett and her ten assists. Mills was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

As for South Spencer, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-8 and their overall record up to 10-11. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

South Spencer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Macy Southwood, who had seven digs and four aces. The dominant performance also gave Southwood a new career-high in assists (30). Another player making a difference was Kendall Lloyd, who had 23 digs and two aces.
