Preview: Lititz Christian Eagles vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors
Lititz Christian has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Dayspring Christian Academy Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lititz Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday.
Last Friday, Lititz Christian earned a 61-52 win over Christian School of York. The win was just what Lititz Christian needed coming off of a 67-36 defeat in their prior game.
Lititz Christian found their leader in underclassman Elijah Antes, who almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Antes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Lapp, who scored seven points along with eight steals.
Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. Their tough 57-36 loss to Varsity Opponent might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Dayspring Christian Academy has suffered yet this season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Miracle Johnsons, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Noah Huxta, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Lititz Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Lititz Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 39 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Dayspring Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 30.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Lititz Christian took a serious blow against Dayspring Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 57-21.
