Softball Game Preview: St. Johns Redwings vs. Fowlerville Gladiators

St. Johns hasn't had much luck against Fowlerville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Redwings will venture away from home to take on the Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

St. Johns is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 20th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to Eaton Rapids. The match marked the first time this year in which the Redwings were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Fowlerville came up short against Waverly on Monday, falling 10-2.

Fowlerville got a good showing from Bailey Armstrong, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Fowlerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Borg, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

St. Johns' loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Fowlerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

St. Johns might still be hurting after the 11-3 loss they got from Fowlerville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Redwings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
