Tyler has won four straight games at home, while Wheeling Central Catholic has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Maroon Knights at 5:00 p.m. Tyler is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Tyler earned a 4-1 win over Ritchie County.

Brennon Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Reese Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Wheeling Central Catholic won against Charleston Catholic two weeks ago with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Maroon Knights never let Williamstown get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The Maroon Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by seven runs or more this season.

Zayne Rosnick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Rosnick was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.

In other batting news, Gary Hatfield was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Braxton Billick, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Tyler is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wheeling Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Tyler suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Wheeling Central Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
